Google My Business Helps You Prepare for the Holiday Season!

By Nick K.
Halloween is finished and that can only mean one thing… it is officially the start of the holiday season! Yippee!

It’s time to start preparing those festive holiday plans and long gift lists. Luckily for you, this could finally be the year that doesn’t involve last minute shopping.

The flip side to the joy of the holiday season is the much dreaded, yet common, holiday shopping issues. This includes encountering sleep deprived, stressed out shoppers, a mad scrambling for scarce products, and the often wonky hours for businesses.

So, what if there was a way to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping plans and minimize those yearly stresses?

Thankfully, Google has come to the rescue, once again! The company announced this week that Google My Business accounts will now be displaying specific holiday hours. Users can easily look up the best time to stop on by at a specific business during the crazy holiday season! It is definitely a small change that could mean all the difference in a stressful situation, especially for those last-minute shoppers.

Not only will this great new feature help save you time from traveling to stores only to find out they are closed, but also will save you the hassle of contacting busy stores to ask if they are open, waiting on hold for 10 minutes only to be disconnected. In addition, Google Maps has integrated a new search filter called “Open Now,” which allows for you to search for nearby locations. No matter what time of day or night it is, you’ll find exactly what you are looking for! Google’s blog has shared photos of what this new change looks like.

Whenever you are searching for a specific business via Google Maps or Google Search, the Google My Business listing information will appear like usual, but this time when scrolling through the listing, it will display specific hours. How convenient!

If you are a business owner and are curious on how to import specific business hours to your Google My Business Account, then Search Engine Land has shared 3 easy tips on how to do just that. With that, best of luck with your future holiday plans and may Google Maps help this year’s holiday shopping become a bit easier!

  1. It’s really fruitful to have some innovative corporate party ideas. For cocktail parties where you may want to serve a refreshing natural and nutritious dessert, it would be great accompany a platter full of fresh fruit with a shot of a fruit smoothie.
