Put Personality Back into Email with Gmail’s Latest Appearance Upgrades!

By Joseph A.

We all know that email will never die, it’s too important in both our professional and private affairs. But to be quite honest, after checking and sending out emails all day at the office, email isn’t all that fun when we come home at the end of the day. In fact, email really isn’t fun at all when you think about it.

However, Google is set to announce some Gmail improvements to make it feel more “personal and fun” by integrating emojis and new themes!

Yes, Gmail has had emoticons for some time now, but let’s face it, they’re outdated and not very interesting. With these new additions, Gmail on the web will now feature the same emojis available in its Hangouts app.

“Themes can help you dress up your inbox, as well as distinguish between your home and work accounts, so they’ve been an important part of Gmail since they first appeared in 2008. Starting today there are hundreds more high-res options available (photographed by some fellow Googlers!). And of course, you can always upload your own,” says Google.

Will these new themes and emojis make Gmail a thrilling experience? Chances are it still won’t be too invigorating. But hey, incorporating those winking faces or having a beach sunset theme will at least make your emails look more interesting than ever before!

Google says these new additions should be made within the next week, so the days of boring, emoji-less emails will soon be a thing of the past!

What are you looking to most about being able to use emojis in your emails?  Let the Tek Team know in the comments!  We’d love to hear what you all come up with!
