Google continues to consistently improve upon their applications and platforms. Whether it is enhancements to Google Maps, or their mysterious algorithms, Google does plenty to stay busy. However, that does leave plenty of opportunity for some Google applications and updates to be left in the dust, especially for Google My Business.

For those who are not familiar with the free application, its purpose is to help business owners access and analyze online data. Luckily, TekShouts! has done an effective job dusting Google My Business off and writing a simple how-to guide on not only how to set up your own business profile, but also why your business needs it in the first place.

In addition, Google has also helped Google My Business by taking off its training wheels and releasing Google My Business 2.0! Now, true to Google’s nature, 2.0 is in the process of slowly rolling out, so consumers must be patient for the official release. The exciting news is that according to Android Headline, the update will add a new interface and content to the application. Other technology news sources like 9 to 5 Google and Star Media also chime in about the latest Google My Business update as being, “much needed” and that it looks “fantastic.”

Along with a new design and appearance, Android Police has said that the latest update also comes equipped with a top-level navigation menu, plenty of animations, and menu bars to allow for easy navigation throughout the application. In other words, Google My Business 2.0 acts and feels much like the design of Google’s other applications. More importantly, when it comes to analyzing data about how your business website is performing and ranking, Google My Business 2.0 delivers by allowing users to create custom date ranges. It also has the capability for users to view other data like number of clicks received, current views, and followers.

If you are a business owner and haven’t used Google My Business before, then you can install it for your phone or tablet from the Google Play Store or iTunes. Once you feel comfortable enough navigating through the app, feel free to install the 2.0 update to add more clarity and acquire a better understanding of how your business is doing online.

Google My Business is a tool necessary to help you plan for your business’ future. With the help of Google, you can count on them to always be there to assist with your business to ensure that it lives to see tomorrow.
